Targeted mobile communication with MOTO GP races visitors

Contact the Vodafone phone users, offering them mobile internet services and convincing them about all the advantages that the fast 3G mobile network has to offer.

Our solution

The targeted communication and real 3G Vodafone network experience were provided by a specificly created mobile service supported by targeted SMS sendings.

The mobile service provided both the current news from various races and practical informations about the races organisation and detailed plans of area, important places including. The visitors were able to interact thanks to the Motomail service (a parallel to Twitter) and the public mobile noticeboard provided by the organisers. This mobile service was fully interconnected with the internet (other web pages), and with the so popular Facebook. It all culminated with a contest for a Yamaha scooter sponsored by another partner, addressing another related target group.

Results

This significant motoristic event was visited by 238 thousands people during the 3 day course. The mobile service together with the MOTOmail were used by more than 20% of visitors. This project clearly demonstrated the possibilities and qualities of mobile internet directly in the field, and helped to promote the provider‘s brand as well as the sponsoring partner’s, the Yamana company.
