Mobile reservation sytem for the International film festival in Karlovy Vary

The most important international film festival in central and east Europe attracts not only various celebrities to Karlovy Vary, but also a great number of visitors.

It is at utmost importance to provide the ticket distribution not only to visiting film fans, but to important people from czech culture, bussiness and politics.

Our solution

Our first concern was to satisfy the customers with ticket reservation system without the need of voice or personal assistence.

We designed and implemented a mobile service on mobile internet basis, which was easily accessable from any mobile phone. As an alternative, we presented the option to reserve the tickets with a single SMS.

The system was linked with the cash register system in a way to withstand the stress of directing thousands of operations per second, and to provide enough informations in real time to both visitors and cash register operators.

Results

The film festival visitors were satisfied during all 4 years the service is used. It offers comfortable service to all participants.

During the peek hours, the system communicates with as much as 300 users per second, each year it handles over 30 000 reservations during the 9 day festival period.

Using SMS, media and various experts are informed about the festival events in real time.
