On one hand, digitl mobile phone built-in cameras pose a great danger to classical photo making, on the other hand, it is also a great opportunity. The leading company in the field – CeWe Color – acknowledges the need of inovation, which would catch up with the fast mobile technology development, and used the iCom Vision expertise and the following concept of a mobile service to nail down the current trend in user behavior.

Our solution

We designed a concept of set of mobile services for the end users, which presented a simple method of transmitting the photographs and working with them directly in the CeWe Color labs.

Mobile services were aimed at various kind of users from simple MMS sendings to a predefined number, over a service based on mobile internet for mobile phones, to a mobile application directly for mobile phones. This way, we could address various end users in a way that relates to their habbits and needs.

The payments for these servisec were realized using mobile phones too, by a method based on Premium rate SMS specifically, avoiding any direct digital or cash payments.

Results

The MMS Fotolab service was awarded by experts and mobile operator specialists in the Creative Mobile Award and MMS Top competitions. The CeWe Color company successfully entered the digital technology era and ensured its dominant position on the photography development market.

During bussy days, the MMS service handels thousands of mobile photography commisions. The most successfull service is the mobile postcard, counting tens of thousands sent photographs from vacations, followed by social event photograph development, and by self-adhesive passport photos.
