 Premium Rate SMS (PR SMS) is a means of mobile payments very similar to micropaypayments. Also PR SMS payments can be done from any mobile phone and processed through the SMS messages. PR SMS can be used as a payment method but only for services and content consumed directly on a mobile phone handset. Usually, PR SMS are used for processing payments for various mobile content such as wallpapers, ringtones or mobile video but also WAP pages access and similar services.
PR SMS payments can be used not only on a per event (individual transaction) basis but also on a regular basis as a form of subscription. This type of payment is generally called Mobile Terminated PR SMS (MT SMS). The end-user confirms an agreement with continual charging according to a described scheme (related to the specific service) and then the PR SMS payment system automatically handles the repetitive payment process, without the involvement of the consumer.

It is necessary to send an answer to any SMS costing 10kc and more. If registering, customer has to receive information about cost of service, maximum frequency of service, provider of service and some other data. User has to have the ability to stop receiving the service by sending one SMS. The content of the SMS must be in accordance with the legal framework of the Czech Republic.
